STAR's JC Giri moves to Ogilvy Singapore
JC Giri (pictured), executive vice president and general manager, STAR TV in India, is moving on. He is returning to the Ogilvy fold and is joining as regional director for the Unilever business for Ogilvy & Mather - Asia Pacific, effective October 14. In his new role, he will be based out of Singapore and will be reporting to Sophie Hoffstetter, regional president - Client growth, Ogilvy & Mather.Giri was earlier president and 360 Head of Office, Ogilvy Mumbai, where he worked for 13 years before taking on the STAR mandate.
STAR Pravah announces three new shows
STAR Pravah, the Marathi GEC from the STAR stable, has unveiled new shows as part of its content lineup. The channel has announced three new shows - Char Chaughi, Daar Ughada Na Gade and Jodi Jamli Re. With this new lineup, the channel says it wants to "capture the essence of the young, progressive and vibrant Maharashtrian".
STAR India announces launch of Bengali GEC, STAR Jolsha
STAR India has announced the launch of its new Bangla general entertainment channel (GEC), STAR Jolsha. This is STAR India's second foray into regional entertainment, the first one being the Tamil GEC, STAR Vijay. STAR Jolsha airs from 8 September.
It's Hello Goregaon, bye Kamala Mills for O&M
O&M has moved. And in typical Ogilvy tradition, they made sure they made some noise about it. The agency created a series of posters to support the shift, which was lined along the corridors of their office on the day of the farewell party. One of these features a guided tour from their former office in Kamala Mills to their new office in Goregaon. It's all in good fun, of course with the O&M team from Piyush Pandey, Abhijit Avasthi, Sumanto Chattopadhyay and Madhukar Sabnavis and JC Giri all thrown in for good measure.
