Chauhan has been with Rediffusion DY&R since the past six years as head of Rediffusion DY&R South and as president of Everest Brand Solutions. For the last two years he has been heading Rediffusion DY&R, the agency as its president.

Nanda said, "My journey with Rediffusion|DYR began along with Ajit Balakrishnan in the year 1973 when we started the agency to show the world that there was much more to advertising than writing smart slogans and drawing pictures.  I think we proved our point aptly, but now believe time has come for me to step aside and hand over the reins to Mahesh, who has the passion, vision and drive to take the company to the next level."

Chauhan said, "This role epitomises the faith that Arun and Ajit have always reposed in me. I hope to live up to it to the best of my capabilities. Today Rediffusion is brimming with the energy to excel beyond expectations and our work is comparable with the best. I look forward to taking on the role of Group CEO and ensuring that the same energy and excellence now pervades all our endeavours across the entire group."
