The Cannes Report, published for the first time this year, provides the rankings of agencies, regions, countries and even cities based on their performance at the prestigious Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. It reveals this year that Japan leads the way in Asian creativity, earning sixth place, just behind Brazil, by winning a total of 31 Lions as well as two Grands Prix, in Media and Promo. India is ranked next with 25 Lions, making India the 9th most successful country at Cannes Lions this year.
India has sent 982 entries for the 2009 Cannes Lions awards. The total number of entries received by the festival this year is 22652, from all over the world.India has sent 50 entries in the Film category, 93 in Design, 262 in Press, 284 in Outdoor, 52 in Radio, 25 in Cyber, 69 in Direct, 77 in Media, 47 in Promo, 11 in Titanium and 12 in the PR category. The countries which have more entries than India include UK, Brazil, Germany and USA. USA has sent the maximum number of entries at 2726, followed by Germany at 2131. Brazil has sent 1519 entries and UK has sent 1316 entries.
The program schedule for the 2009 Cannes Lions festival is now online. The festival, schedued to take place between 21 to 27 June this year, is currently open for delegate registrations.
