Porsche India appoints Ashutosh Dixit as director

Škoda Auto Volkswagen India has appointed Ashutosh Dixit to head Porsche India as the brand sharpens its market focus.

Porsche India, a division of Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL), has appointed Ashutosh Dixit as brand director, Porsche India, with immediate effect. The leadership appointment signals the company’s continued focus on strengthening its positioning and long-term growth strategy in the Indian automotive market.

Dixit succeeds Manolito Vujicic, who is moving on to pursue opportunities outside the Volkswagen Group. SAVWIPL acknowledged Vujicic’s contribution and leadership during his tenure with the brand.

With more than 28 years of experience in the automotive industry, Dixit brings expertise across strategy, sales operations and brand development. Over the course of his career spanning India, China and Europe, he has held multiple leadership positions and spent nearly two decades within the Volkswagen Group.

Prior to this appointment, Dixit served as market development director at Porsche Middle East and Africa’s regional office, where he played a role in shaping market initiatives for India. His experience across regional and international markets is expected to support Porsche India’s efforts to strengthen customer engagement and brand presence.

Dr. Manfred Bräunl, chief executive officer, Porsche Middle East and Africa, said, “Ashutosh brings a deep understanding of both the Porsche brand and the Indian market to this role. His leadership experience across regions and functions makes him exceptionally well-positioned to guide Porsche India into its next phase. India continues to be an important market for us, and we are confident that under his leadership, the brand will further strengthen its presence and performance.”

Jan Bures, executive director of sales, marketing and digital, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, added, “Ashutosh’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for Porsche in India. His proven ability to navigate diverse markets and lead with vision makes him the right person to drive our journey forward. India is a dynamic and strategic market for us, and with Ashutosh at the helm, we look forward to building stronger connections with our customers and achieving new milestones.”

The appointment aligns with SAVWIPL’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in India through customer-centric innovation, sustainable growth and portfolio expansion. The company continues to position India as a strategic market under its ‘Made in India for India and the World’ approach.

Headquartered in Pune, SAVWIPL oversees the Indian operations of six Volkswagen Group brands — Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche. The company began operations in India more than 25 years ago in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, formerly Aurangabad, and currently operates manufacturing plants in Chakan, Pune, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, with a combined annual production capacity of 315,000 units.

The group crossed the milestone of 2 million locally produced vehicles in 2025 and has exported more than 700,000 vehicles to over 40 countries. Through initiatives such as INDIA 2.0, the company has focused on localisation and supplier ecosystem development, while expanding its locally manufactured product portfolio.

Its India-built models, including the Škoda Kylaq, Kushaq and Slavia, along with Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, collectively crossed 550,000 units in 2025. SAVWIPL currently operates nearly 700 customer touchpoints across the country and employs more than 4,000 people.
