Lavanya Wadgaonkar elevated as head of global comms at Nissan
Nissan has announced the appointment of Lavanya Wadgaonkar as general manager and head of global corporate communications, effective 1 November. 
 
Based in Japan, she reports to Sadayuki Hamaguchi, chief communications officer. She will be responsible for strengthening the company’s reputation through executive communication, issues and crisis management, corporate narrative and media relations. 
 
She had joined Nissan India in 2012 to lead corporate communications and sustainability strategy. Since 2016 she led the communications and external and government affairs functions for Nissan Asia and Oceania. 
 
Before joining Nissan in 2012, she had worked with Lexmark, Reliance and Eaton.
