Galgotias University has appointed Ujjwal Pratap as director of strategic communications and public relations, as it looks to strengthen brand visibility and stakeholder engagement during its next phase of growth.
In his new role, Pratap will oversee strategic communications, media relations, thought leadership initiatives, internal communications, and brand-building efforts. His mandate spans multiple stakeholder groups, including students, parents, faculty, recruiters, regulators, and global partners, reflecting a comprehensive approach to institutional communication.

Pratap brings over two decades of experience across sectors including higher education, financial services, consulting, and corporate communications. Prior to this role, he served as director of branding and communications at Ahmedabad University, where he led institutional brand strategy, media engagement, digital positioning, admissions communications, and strategic campaigns.
His earlier career includes roles at global organisations such as The Bank of New York Mellon, Teleperformance, and Bain & Company. Across these assignments, he has worked on executive visibility, media relations, stakeholder communications, and reputation management across regions including North America, South East Asia, and EMEA.
Academically, Pratap is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Mass Communication and holds a BA (Hons.) in Political Science from University of Delhi. He has also completed an executive education programme in finance from Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and holds an LLB degree.
The appointment comes as Galgotias University continues to expand its academic footprint and deepen industry and global partnerships. From a marketing and communications perspective, the move reflects an increased focus on building consistent institutional narratives, enhancing visibility across channels, and aligning communication strategies with long-term growth and positioning objectives.
