Akshar Yoga Kendraa has launched ‘India Breathe Again’, a seven-day national conscious breathing initiative responding to rising respiratory concerns during one of India’s most severe air-quality periods in recent years. The campaign positions simple, structured breathwork as a practical tool to support lung strength, immunity and resilience to polluted air.
Built on principles of ancient yogic science and adapted for contemporary routines, the initiative invites students, professionals, families and digital creators to complete daily 60-second breathing practices. These are supported by guided livestreams, community-led challenges and insights from specialists across wellness, medicine, sustainability and corporate leadership. The programme is intended to highlight how short, consistent breathwork can help individuals manage fatigue, anxiety and general stress associated with hazardous AQI levels.
A central feature of the campaign is the National Breath Hour, a synchronised livestream designed to bring participants together for a shared moment of calm. The seven-day activity will be promoted through teaser content illustrating the contrast between India’s urban smog and the stillness associated with mindful breathing. Influencers and public figures will contribute to the campaign’s reach by encouraging audiences to adopt basic practices that require no equipment and can be performed anywhere.
Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, yoga master, spiritual guide and founder of Akshar Yoga Kendraa, said: “Before we transform the world around us, we must learn to transform our inner environment. Mindful breathing builds inner immunity, mental clarity, and emotional balance. Through ‘India Breathe Again,’ we want every Indian to experience the healing power of their own breath.”
While long-term solutions to air pollution remain essential, the campaign notes that daily breathwork can support lung capacity, oxygen intake, stress reduction and broader wellbeing, making it a practical personal measure against environmental stressors.
