Rashmika Mandanna eases Shubman Gill’s anime heartbreak

Crunchyroll India releases the second ad film from its 'Ready to Anime?' campaign featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Shubman Gill.

Crunchyroll, the global anime destination, has launched the second advertisement from its India brand campaign, 'Ready to Anime?', starring Rashmika Mandanna and Shubman Gill. The campaign follows the first ad, which premiered during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and captures a universal moment for anime fans: the heartbreak when a favourite series comes to an end.

In the film, Shubman calls Rashmika late at night in distress after finishing an anime series. She reassures him that on Crunchyroll, the conclusion of one story simply means another adventure is ready to begin. The light-hearted exchange showcases Crunchyroll’s extensive catalogue, featuring global titles such as Black Clover, BLUE LOCK, and ONE PIECE. Rashmika embodies the passionate anime fan, while Shubman represents new viewers discovering anime’s immersive storytelling.

Ekta Gulechha, director, marketing for India at Crunchyroll, said, "Following the strong fan engagement with our first ad film, we’re excited to launch the next chapter of the 'Ready to Anime?' campaign. The piece taps into a familiar anime fan emotion - the feeling when a beloved series comes to an end — while reminding viewers that with Crunchyroll’s ever-expanding library, there’s always another story waiting to be discovered. As anime continues to grow in India, we’re seeing audiences form deep, personal connections with the characters and stories."

The campaign, conceptualised by Tilt Brand Solutions and produced by StudioQ, both part of Quotient Ventures Pvt Ltd, will run nationally across CTV, digital, and social platforms.

Crunchyroll’s India catalogue includes over 900 anime titles, more than 160 of which are dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. New episodes stream simultaneously with Japan, with subscriptions starting at INR 99 per month.
