Sports Illustrated to hit Indian stands on October 5

The UK-based Dennis Publishing has joined hands with Media Transasia to launch Sports Illustrated in India. The magazine priced Rs 100 and with an initial print run of 100,000 copies will hit the stands on October 5.

Richard Downey joins Dennis Media Transasia

Richard Downey has joined Dennis Media Transasia as publishing director. Downey (pictured) will be responsible initially for driving the business for Blender magazine and subsequently for some of the forthcoming international titles and online ventures.Piyush Sharma, CEO and publisher, Media Transasia said, "We are happy to have Richard on board, who brings rich experience in web publishing and ad sales with the right blend of exposure to print, web and digital, essential for driving Dennis Media Transasia's huge growth plans."

Dennis, Media Transasia form 50:50 JV

Dennis Publishing has formed a 50:50 joint venture with Media Transasia to form a new entity called Dennis Media Transasia India. The newly formed entity is looking at expanding in the Indian publishing market with a number of new print and digital titles in the next few months.James Tye, CEO, Dennis Publishing, says the company is bullish on the digital front and is looking at the launch of a digital brand in the next six months in India. Tye said he could not reveal the name of the digital title, as of now.

Media Transasia to launch ‘Blender’ in India

Media Transasia is planning to launch Alpha Media Group Inc.'s Blender, music magazine, in India. Sam Lal has been appointed as the editor.The magazine is targeted at men in the 18-34 age group and will be launched with a print order of 150,000. Blender will enter the Indian market in a combo offer with sister magazine Maxim, which is also published by Media Transasia India.
