Spent a bit of time on Facebook on Sunday and I mentioned that I was looking forward to a couple of easy days, Tuesday and Wednesday. Like hell.Got into the office on Tuesday morning to work on a memento for ‘Steady’ John Steedman. Wrapped up by noon. Went to Bandra to meet someone who will be helping Campaign India’s Goafest efforts (look out for it).Came back to the ITC Central for a cup of tea with Steady. Great chat, and out of the discussions was born a great feature idea. Look out for this one, too.
Steedman steps down as GroupM chief
After more than 33 years at WPP, John Steedman (pictured) is stepping down from his post as GroupM chairman and CEO Asia-Pacific, and will be replaced by Mark Patterson, the media agency group's regional COO. At the age of 54, Steedman, or Steady, will retire after 38 years in the business - 18 of which he spent running the region in a senior post at WPP. He will remain in a consulting role for a year after which he intends to pursue personal business interests such as property.
