Truecaller has entered into a strategic partnership with Gupshup to expand the reach of its Business Messaging solution, enabling enterprises to engage customers through verified and interactive communications across India and several international markets.
Announced on 4 June 2026, the partnership will see Gupshup offer Truecaller Business Messaging to businesses in India, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa and other global markets. The collaboration is designed to help brands move beyond traditional SMS-based communication and adopt richer, more interactive messaging experiences.
The partnership brings access to Truecaller’s verified messaging environment, allowing brands to communicate with consumers through authenticated business profiles that display the company name, logo and Green Verified Badge. The feature is intended to improve trust, increase message visibility and reduce the likelihood of communications being ignored or marked as spam.
The offering supports rich-media formats, enabling brands to include images, videos, documents and visual content within messages. This allows marketers to share promotional assets, invoices, boarding passes, order information and customer service updates in a more engaging and informative format than conventional text messaging.
The platform also includes built-in call-to-action capabilities designed to streamline customer interactions. Users can perform actions such as copying one-time passwords, tracking orders, completing web check-ins and accessing relevant services directly from messages, reducing friction across customer journeys.
Another key feature is the introduction of 'Sticky Notifications' for time-sensitive communications. Important updates, including OTPs, travel notifications and transactional alerts, remain visible at the top of the chat interface to improve accessibility and response rates.
The partnership aligns with growing demand from brands for messaging solutions that combine customer trust, engagement and measurable business outcomes. By integrating Gupshup’s conversational AI and enterprise messaging capabilities with Truecaller’s user ecosystem, the companies aim to create a more effective communication channel for businesses throughout the customer lifecycle.
Priyam Bose, global head, GTM, Truecaller, said, "This partnership is a meaningful step toward simplifying how global enterprises communicate with their customers. Together with Gupshup, we have an opportunity to empower the digital communication landscape globally and deliver experiences that are more trusted, useful, and conversational for end users."
Beerud Sheth, founder and CEO, Gupshup, added, "To drive effective customer engagement, businesses need to meet consumers where they are, on their terms. Through this partnership with Truecaller, we're excited to offer enterprises another rich channel of interaction that consumers trust and use daily."
The solution is designed to support a broad range of communication requirements, from secure and fraud-resistant OTP delivery to bill payments, customer support interactions and feedback collection. The companies say the combination of verified messaging, rich content and interactive functionality is expected to help brands create more visible, trusted and actionable customer experiences.
For marketers, the partnership reflects a broader shift towards conversational and authenticated communication channels as businesses seek alternatives to traditional SMS for customer engagement, retention and conversion.
