Pavan Varshnei to move out of ABP

Pavan Varshnei, president of English language publications at Anand Bazaar Patrika (ABP), has moved on to seek new opportunities in media and advertising.

Kaushik Banerjee will take over as vice president, English magazines, with effect from 1 March 2012.

Pavan Varshnei joined ABP in 2008 to run Businessworld, and set up and launch Fortune India. Varshnei has also worked with the India Today Group and Lintas India.

Confirming this development, DD Purkayastha, chief executive officer, ABP Group said, “After spending four years with ABP,  Pavan has decided to pursue new opportunities, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

He added, “In his place now we have Kaushik Banerjee, who will be relocating to Delhi. He is now head of the English magazine business, but will also take on retail and radio businesses.”
