Chaka Sobhani, president and global chief creative officer at DDB Worldwide, is set to be appointed global CCO at TBWA\Worldwide, Campaign understands.
The appointment is part of changes taking place after Omnicom’s acquisition of Interpublic Group last week, with further details of the new leadership structure expected later today (Monday). Interpublic as a name is no more. The deal, which valued IPG at $9 billion, created the largest holding company by revenue, with Publicis Groupe in second place.
Ben Williams, chief creative experience officer at Omnicom's TBWA\Worldwide, departed in October to join Dept as CCO.
Omnicom declined to comment.
Sobhani’s new role comes on the back of speculation about the future of Omnicom’s DDB network, which is expected to be scaled back after the holdco confirmed in October that it was carrying out a “rigorous” review of all of its agency brands. Earlier in November, DDB’s global CEO Alex Lubar departed.
Sobhani, who is based in London and reported to Lubar, has spent more than a year at DDB Worldwide, having moved from her previous role as CCO at Publicis' Leo Burnett UK and global in 2023.
Prior to this she was at Mother, which she joined as a creative director in 2013. Her early career was in TV and film-making, and she set up ITV’s in-house agency, ITV Creative.
