Tyler Turnbull, the global chief executive of FCB, will run McCann Worldgroup as global chief executive, replacing Daryl Lee.
Campaign understands the appointment will be confirmed later today as part of the new structure at an enlarged Omnicom.
A spokesperson for Omnicom declined to comment.
FCB promoted Turnbull, then the chief executive of FCB North America, to global chief executive in 2022, succeeding Carter Murray.
Turnbull joined FCB in 2014 from Proximity Canada, where he was president, to run the then Interpublic-owned agency’s Canada agency as chief executive. He became group chief executive in 2016 and chief executive of FCB North America in 2019.
Turnbull started his career in 2006 as an intern at Publicis in his native Canada. After three years as an account person, he switched to strategy, rising to joint head of planning before moving to Proximity Canada as senior vice-president, strategy and insight in 2012.
Chaka Sobhani, the global chief creative officer and president of DDB, will become the global chief creative officer of TBWA\Worldwide, as part of the changes.
Omnicom’s purchase of Interpublic completed last Wednesday after receiving approval from the European Commission.
Ahead of the deal’s closure, IPG moved FutureBrand out of McCann Worldgroup and into regional McCann offices. MullenLowe and FCB have also been reorganised in the UK, with FCB and MullenLowe UK sharing back-office functions.
