The battle of the Hindi general entertainment channels for eyeballs is getting fiercer. Three GECs including Sony Entertainment, Colors and STAR Plus have announced the launch of their big ticket reality shows for primetime, with all the shows being pitted against each other.

Sony Entertainment has launched its reality show ‘Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao’ (see picture) which is based on ITV Entertainment’s format, ‘I am a Celebrity, Get me out of here.’ Produced by Miditech, the show features ten celebrities who have to survive in the jungles of Malaysia for two weeks.

Colors will soon launch ‘100%’ which is being produced by Endemol India and is being touted as a “reality meets fiction” show featuring WWF personalities. The channel does not want to divulge details at this stage. It will also soon kick start the second season of its successful show Khatron Ke Khiladi featuring Akshay Kumar. Its other reality show ‘India’s Got Talent’ went on-air a few days back.

STAR Plus has recently launched its new show ‘Sach Ka Saamna’ which is based on the international show ‘Moment of Truth’. The show is being produced by BIG Synergy.

While Zee, STAR and Colors have been constantly fighting for the number one slot in the Hindi GEC race, Sony has slipped to number five and is thus banking on the newly launched show to get them back into contention.
