Global technology and marketing company DEPT is expanding its operations in India with the launch of a regional business hub in Bengaluru. DEPT plans to manage and support its growing business in South India from the new center.

“The Indian market has enormous potential, from both a talent and client perspective. This expansion to Bengaluru comes as a response to needs we have identified in the market from brands that want to disrupt and innovate in their industries,” said Himanshu Mody, head of India, DEPT.

DEPT is the the digital partner of Adobe in India. It will collaborate with Adobe to deliver advanced solutions to its clients in the region under the leadership of Rishi Bhargava, head of solution consulting at DEPT India. Leveraging its expertise in Adobe technologies, the company will deliver customised solutions for brands in this region.

“We are thrilled to expand our operations to Bengaluru, a city synonymous with tech and innovation. We will collaborate with new clients and partners in the region, helping businesses achieve their digital transformation goals,” said Rishi Bhargava.

DEPT, a company backed by the Carlyle Group, entered India in 2023 by setting up an office in Mumbai, following its acquisition of Tekno Point. Currently with a team of over 700 professionals, it offers technology and marketing solutions to clients including HSBC, Tata Capital, and Bajaj Allianz in India.

Last year, DEPT appointed Monica Ledwani as its director of customer experience and Rishi Bhargava as the head of solutions consulting for India operations and Andrew Dimitriou as its global chief client and growth officer.

The company leverages spatial computing to serve its clients in the Asia-Pacific region. For instance, this covers managing digital stacks for banking and financial clients, building their websites, mobile apps, and writing their APIs to interconnect their programming. The company also helps the University of Melbourne to commercialise its spatial tech health applications.
