Cannes 2013: 82 Indian entries shortlisted across Outdoor, Press and Media Lions

In the Outdoor category, 43 Indian entries have been shortlisted, while 37 entries make the cut in Press Lions category. Two Indian entries have been shortlisted in the Media Lions category, even as Mobile category continues to draw a blank

Cannes 2013: 82 Indian entries shortlisted across Outdoor, Press and Media Lions

While Indian entries failed to impress the Mobile Lions jury to make the shortlist, the Outdoor (43), Media (2) and Press Lions (37) categories keep the Indian hopes alive.

Media Lions

Only two Indian entries have made it to the shortlist in the Media Lions category.
 
Ogilvy & Mather’s ‘Taste the Poster’ for Lal Pet Products has secured the agency a shortlist in the ‘Best Use of Ambient Media: Small Scale’ sub-category. The other shortlist is for Leo Burnett India’s ‘Reflection Of Music - Usha Uthup’ entry for Coca-Cola India’s Coke Studio in the ‘Best Use of Print’ sub-category.
 
Outdoor Lions

 
Of the 661 entries shortlisted in the Outdoor Lions category, 43 are from Indian agencies.
 
Ogilvy & Mather India leads the tally for shortlists in the Outdoor category from India with 15 shortlists. The agency’s two entries titled ‘Alley’ and ‘Gorge’ for Philips Electronics’ ‘LED Torch’ campaign have been shortlisted in the ‘Home Appliances, Furnishings, Electronics & Audio-Visual’ sub-category.

In the ‘Entertainment & Leisure’ sub-category, Ogilvy’s entry ‘Grass’ for Mattel Toys’ Hot Wheels Toy Cars earned a shortlist. The agency secured shortlists for entries ‘Panda’, ‘Hippo’ and ‘Bear’ for WWF India campaign and ‘Train’, ‘Terror’ and ‘Noose’ for a Dog Adoption campaign by World For All in the ‘Fundraising, Charities, Appeals, Non-Profit Organisations, Public Health and Safety, Public Awareness Messages’ sub-category. The other shortlisted entries from the agency include the entry titled ‘Blind School Bag’ for ‘Blind Relief Association’ in the ‘Small Scale Special Solutions’ sub-category, ‘Road Roller’ entry for Philips Electronics’ Electrical Iron and ‘Building’ for Sukriti Power Tools’ Drills and Saws in the ‘Special Build’ sub-category.

Taproot India is second on the shortlist tally, with nine. Entries ‘Push Ups With Claps’, ‘Skate Board Shove It’ and ‘Back Flip’ for PepsiCo’s Gatorade secured the agency shortlists in the ‘Drinks (Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic) sub-category. The agency’s entries ‘Farmer’s Suicides 1,2 and 3’ for Times of India have been shortlisted in two sub-categories -‘Fundraising, Charities, Appeals, Non-Profit Organisations, Public Health & Safety, Public Awareness Messages’ and ‘Illustration’.
 
Grey Worldwide has seven shortlisted entries. In the ‘Household’ sub-category, the agency’s three entries ‘Man’, ‘Woman’ and ‘Music’ for P&G’s Duracell and the three entry campaign ‘Positive and Negative’ for Duracell Batteries have been shortlisted. The entry ‘Divorce’ for DHL Express in the ‘Business Equipment and Services’ sub-category has also been shortlisted.
 
McCann Worldgroup India has six shortlists in the category. The agency’s entries ‘William Shakespeare’, ‘Mark Twain’ and ‘Oscar Wilde’ for Penguin Group’s Audiobooks have been shortlisted in the ‘Publications and Media’ and ‘Illustration’ sub-categories.

Leo Burnett India’s entries ‘Zebra Crossing’, ‘Vulture’ and ‘Kiss’ in the ‘Business Equipment & Services’ sub-category for Getty Images and ‘Reflection of Music – Table Mat’ for Coca Cola India’s Coke Studio in the ‘Bars, Restaurants & Stores, etc.’ sub-category have been shortlisted.
 
BBDO India’s entry ‘Blood Donation’ for P&G India’s Gillette Guard in the ‘Integrated campaigns led by Outdoor’ sub-category and Publicis Communications’ ‘Vocals’ entry for P&G’s Vicks Cough Drops in the ‘Cosmetics & Beauty, Toiletries & Pharmacy’ sub-category are the other Indian shortlists.
 
Press Lions
 
Taproot India leads the tally for shortlists in the Press category from India with 12. The agency’s three entries ‘Push Ups With Claps,’ ‘Skate Board Shove It’ and ‘Back Flip’ for PepsiCo’s Gatorade has earned shortlists in the ‘Non-Alcoholic Drinks’ sub category. Taproot’s three-entry campaign – ‘Farmers Suicides- 1,2,3‘ for Times Of India has been shortlisted in the ‘Fundraising and Appeals’, ‘Art Direction’ and ‘Illustration’ sub-categories.
