Balaji, STAR in scrap

Balaji Telefilms today  informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that it would pursue “all legal remedies available to it” to deal with the STAR TV Group terminating the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" contract. The full statement: SGL Entertainment Ltd (part of the Star Group) has issued a notice for the termination, with effect from November 10, 2008, of sourcing of content and telecasting of the program "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" (Kyunki) produced by the Company.

SGL Entertainment Ltd (part of the Star Group) has issued a notice for the termination, with effect from November 10, 2008, of sourcing of content and telecasting of the program "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" (Kyunki) produced by the Company.

The Company is of the view that the termination is in breach of contractual obligations owed, by the Star Group to the Company and is pursuing all legal remedies available to it in relation to the same.

Kyunki is one of 6 programs presently being produced by the Company for the Star Group. The Company produces 2 programs for 9X, one for Zee TV and is also producing 2 programs that will be launched on NDTV Imagine in this quarter."
