For March 2013, the the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI)’s CCC upheld complaints against 52 of 84 ads across categories. Complaints against 31 ads in the Health & Personal Care products or services were upheld, while 14 ads in the Education category were upheld. Complaints received against 32 advertisements in March 2013 were not upheld as they did not violate the ASCI code.
Health & Personal Care products or services
The CCC found following claims in Health & Personal Care products or services category ads released in newspapers to be either misleading or false or not adequately or scientifically substantiated and hence violated the Chapter I of the ASCI code. Some of the Health Care product or services ads also contravened the provisions of the Drug & Magic Remedies Act. Complaints against the following ads therefore were UPHELD.
