Adfest has unveiled the theme for next year’s event – ‘Made in Asia,’ which will also become the festival’s permanent tagline. Created by Ben Welsh, executive creative director at M&C Saatchi in Sydney, the ‘Made in Asia’ tagline attempts to convey the festival’s heritage as a premier regional advertising festival in the Asia Pacific. Adfest 2009 is scheduled to begin from 19-21 March 2009 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Adfest president Jimmy Lam says the tagline reflects how far the Asia Pacific region has evolved over the past decade in terms of its innovation, ideas and creativity.

“Adfest is Asia’s own awards show. It showcases the best work made in Asia, much of which takes its place amongst the world’s most awarded work. As a result, careers are made at Adfest. With booming economies across the region, ‘Made in Asia’ is a proud and increasingly relevant claim,” says Lam.

Next year’s Adfest will include 13 categories for film, press, poster, print craft, film craft, outdoor, cyber, direct, radio, design as well as Innova and 360 Lotus categories for innovative and integrated campaigns. Juries on the film craft jury will also select the region’s best new director.
