Eid Mubarak: Zain reaches refugee camp in Jordan, orchestrates compassion

Watch the music video created by the MEA telco, directed by Samir Abbou

Zain, a telco with a presence in eight countries in the Middle East and Africa, rang in the Ramadan season with a note of compassion.

The video features popular artistes from the world of music, drawn from the markets the company is present in. It was shot in a refugee camp in Jordan, to dwell on the message of hope for the displaced children who have lost their homes and everything else.

A print campaign that had themes like 'If you're happy, we are happy' and 'Dream so I can achieve' was part of the brand's efforts to infuse hope to the displaced.

The company revealed that the production took two months, in the course of which, in the spirit of Ramadan and the campaign, Zain built permanent playgrounds and swimming pools in the refugee camps.

Scott Gegenheimer, group CEO, Zain, said, “Every year the holy month of Ramadan offers us a chance to reinforce our credentials as a company whose history and future is tied closely to this region. At a time when there is so much turmoil and insecurity for so many of our citizens, it is necessary for Zain to show that we stand amongst them, and are thinking about them at this profound time of year.”
