Weekend Fun (1): Andy Zaltzman's stand up comedy

Readers leaning towards cricket and comedy will already know that writer and political satirist Andy Zaltzman is in the country.

The performer, who uses cricket as a subject of his comedy shows, is performing a series on the theme ‘Cricket vs. The World’. The shows started in Mumbai (3 to 7 October) and will move on to Pune and Kolkata and Bengaluru.

ESPNcricinfo has partnered with Homegrown Comedy for the tour. Zaltzman is a creative contributor to the cricket website through his weekly blog The Confectionery Stall

ESPNcricinfo is running contests on its site with tickets to the show as prizes.

Ramesh Kumar, head of ESPNcricinfo and ESPN Digital Media, said, “Andy’s blog is an absolute favourite with fans. He uses humour brilliantly to evoke pride, normalise absurdities and numb disappointment. It made perfect sense for us to support and promote his rib-tickling wit and unflinching romance with cricket during his India tour.”

Tickets for all shows are available on BookMyShow.com.
