Viacom18 bags the media rights for Women's IPL

The media company has committed INR 951 crores which results in a value of INR 7.09 crores per match for the next five years

Viacom18 bags the media rights for Women's IPL
Jay Shah, secretary, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India), took to Twitter to announce that Viacom18 has bagged the media rights for the Women's IPL. 
 
The media company has committed INR 951 crores to BCCI over the next five years.
 
This means that Viacom18 will pay the BCCI per match value of INR 7.09 crores for a tenure of five years (2023-27).
 
For the men's IPL, the winning bids for the auction closed at Rs 57.5 crore per match for TV and Rs 50 crore per match for digital. Disney Star retained the TV rights for INR 21,275 crores, whereas Viacom18 won the digital rights at Rs 18,500 crores. 
 
The Women's IPL is scheduled to be held in March 2023.
