Indian entries have received 62 shortlists across the Print, PR, Outdoor, Mobile, Media, Digital and Design categories at Spikes Asia 2014. Grey Worldwide has 13 with McCann following at 10.
Nineteen Indian entries were shortlisted in this category. Grey Worldwide India has 7, McCann Worldgroup India has four.
DDB Mudra has four, while three entries from JWT India and one from BBDO India have made the shortlist.
Five entries from India have made the cut in this category, none of them from PR agencies, as is the norm at ad festivals now.
Ogilvy & Mather has two, one for Channel [v]’s The Seatbelt Crew, and the other for The Akanksha Foundation’s ‘Message Barter’.
BBDO’s entry ‘Illegal Sand Mining’ for Awaaz Foundation, Havas WW’s ‘No Child Brides’ for Child Survival India, and Cheil’s ‘The Light Bag’ for Salaam Balak Trust have also made the cut.
In Outdoor, Indian entries account for 21 shortlists. McCann (for work on Big Babol (3) and Premier Tissues (3)) and Grey Worldwide (Duracell Batteries (4) and Premier Tissues (2)) are tied up at six shortlists each.
JWT’s three shortlists are for Godrej Security Solutions work.
Havas Worldwide has 2 for their work on Durex Dotted Condoms (Reckitt Benckiser).
Ogilvy & Mather has garnered 3 shortlists for Mattel Toys and Cheil Worldwide India has one for Salaam Baalak Trust.
There is just one shortlist from in this category. The joint entry by Lowe and Partners and PHD India Kan Khajura Tesan, for Hindustan Unilever, is in the reckoning yet again.
Seven Indian entries made the cut in the Media category. Cheil and PHD have two shortlists each. Cheil’s shortlists are for Halonix and Salaam Baalak Trust. Both of PHD’s shortlisted entries are for Kaan Khajura Tesan.
Creativeland Asia has bagged a shortlist for MTS Bittorent India.
Lodestar’s work for Nerolac Paints is among shortlists, as is Vizeum’s entry ‘MTV sent the youth to polling booth’.
No Indian entry made the cut in this category.
There are six Indian shortlists in the digital category.
JWT's film for Nike ‘Make Every Yard Count’ is again in the hunt for metal, with three shortlists.
O&M has two of the shortlists for Castrol’s Road Safety Awareness and Message Barter.
Creativeland Asia bagged a shortlist for Cuba Underground.
Three Indian shortlists have made the cut in the Design category.
DDB’s work for Volkswagen has two shortlists, while BBDO’s work for Visa has one.
The revised number of shortlists in the Print and OOH categories are owing to a change communicated to the press officially, which read, (For Print) "There was an error on our part with the print shortlist that was distributed to our accredited press this morning. By mistake we uploaded all of the print entries to our press portal."
(For OOH) "The Outdoor Shortlist which was uploaded to the Press Portal this morning is missing some categories."
