Sony Pictures Networks India elevates Akshay Agrawal as head of linear ad sales

The broadcaster strengthened its linear advertising leadership amid shifting advertiser expectations and media convergence.

Sony Pictures Networks India has elevated Akshay Agrawal as head of linear ad sales, tasking him with driving revenue growth and strengthening advertiser partnerships. He will report to Rajesh Kaul, chief revenue officer and business head, sports and international.

Agrawal has spent over 22 years at SPNI, building deep expertise across sports, movies, free-to-air and Hindi general entertainment channels. His experience spans monetising high-value portfolios and delivering insight-led solutions tailored to advertiser needs.

In his new role, Agrawal will focus on positioning linear television as a business growth driver through customised partnerships and outcome-driven advertising solutions. His mandate reflects SPNI’s emphasis on integrating content, insights and client collaboration.

Kaul said Agrawal’s understanding of the advertising ecosystem and consistent delivery of business results made him well suited to lead the linear ad sales function at a time of market complexity.

Agrawal said linear television continues to offer unmatched scale for brand building, and that the opportunity lies in combining strong content with data and innovative thinking to deliver measurable outcomes.
