Sebamed honours nurses as first caregivers of newborns

Sebamed, the German skincare brand distributed in India by USV, has launched an initiative to recognise nurses as essential yet often overlooked contributors to newborn care. The campaign features a series of real-life testimonial films that offer an intimate glimpse into a nurse’s daily work. Scenes such as the first bath, gentle lotion application, and soothing touches illustrate the trust and responsibility nurses carry while guiding babies from the safety of the womb to the outside world.

The campaign also underscores the importance of newborn skin care, highlighting Sebamed’s ideal pH of 5.5. This reinforces the brand’s connection with healthcare professionals, rooted in scientific research and trust.

Minali Bhawsar, category head of Sebamed India, said, “The journey of life begins in the hands of a nurse with unwavering dedication. Through this celebration, Sebamed amplifies their voice—a voice rarely recognised despite its unmatched credibility. Sebamed is proud to give them a national platform to share their real stories. When the first caregivers show their trust in Sebamed, it validates our purpose and safety promise: to provide scientifically backed care that protects delicate baby skin with pH 5.5 from day one.”

Sachin Kamble, CCO of Leo Burnett South Asia, added, “This wasn’t just a campaign, it was an homage. We wanted to honour the quiet heroes who hold life before anyone else. Their instinctive care reflects Sebamed’s belief that true protection comes from science that understands sensitivity. Through their hands and Sebamed’s pH 5.5 science, we found a shared language of care that begins with the very first touch.”
