Cetaphil, the skincare brand from Swiss dermatology company Galderma, has introduced its ‘Healthy Renew’ range in India, marking the brand’s entry into the healthy ageing skincare segment. Positioned as an alternative to traditional retinol-based regimens, the new range aims to offer anti-ageing benefits while remaining suitable for sensitive skin.
The launch aligns with a broader shift in consumer behaviour, as skincare users increasingly move from corrective anti-ageing solutions towards preventive and resilience-led routines. In particular, women in their early 30s are seeking products that address visible signs of ageing such as fine lines, uneven tone and reduced firmness, while avoiding irritation caused by stronger active ingredients.
The Cetaphil Healthy Renew range has been developed to address this requirement by focusing on a barrier-supportive skincare approach. Instead of relying on conventional retinol formulations, the range is powered by purified peptides designed to support skin renewal while remaining gentle on sensitive skin.
The brand’s positioning for the range highlights the balance between dermatological science and everyday usability. By emphasising efficacy alongside skin tolerance, the launch aims to engage consumers who want visible improvements in skin health without compromising comfort.
Raghavendra Sadashiva, managing director of Galderma India and South Asia, said, “At Galderma, our purpose is ‘Advancing Dermatology for every skin story’. With Cetaphil’s new Healthy Renew, we are extending expertise into the evolving healthy aging category. Today’s consumers are well informed and clear about their choices, they seek association with brands that have a strong legacy of credible scientific innovation, strong recommendations from dermatologists. Organisations such as ours have been investing in skin science research over decades and addressing sensitive skin concerns of consumers. Our new range is one such offering to consumers who are looking for effective, gentle solution that helps their skin stay younger.”
Sensitive skin often ages differently because of a weakened barrier and a higher likelihood of irritation. In many cases, commonly used anti-ageing ingredients can exacerbate sensitivity, leading to inconsistent product usage. By incorporating purified peptides, the Healthy Renew range is designed to provide a gentler alternative while supporting collagen production and improving skin firmness.
The formulation process involved extensive research into peptide combinations. After testing hundreds of variants, the brand selected highly purified botanical glycopeptides intended to support collagen and elastin while maintaining the skin’s barrier integrity.
The formulations are also enriched with Vitamins B3 and B5 to support hydration, soothe the skin and help repair the moisture barrier. Additional botanical extracts, including Rice lees and Edelweiss, have been incorporated to address dullness and uneven skin tone.
Through the launch of the Healthy Renew range, Cetaphil aims to strengthen its positioning within dermatology-led skincare while expanding into the growing healthy ageing category in India.
