More web-mobile interplay for Yahoo! in 2009

Yahoo! India has had a good year with numerous product launches and is now set to enter the year 2009 with new plans in the pipeline."The company will focus more and more on mobile web interplay," said Yahoo India's vice president and head of emerging markets, Gopal Krishna.  He also mentioned that Yahoo! will beef up its local Yahoo! and cricket Yahoo! portals.

Yahoo! India has had a good year with numerous product launches and is now set to enter the year 2009 with new plans in the pipeline.
"The company will focus more and more on mobile web interplay," said Yahoo India's vice president and head of emerging markets, Gopal Krishna.  He also mentioned that Yahoo! will beef up its local Yahoo! and cricket Yahoo! portals.
In terms of categories, Yahoo! will lay maximum emphasis on travel and finance. In 2009, the company also aims to focus on 16-24 year olds target group. It is also working on exclusive pages for the metro market. These pages will be specifically useful for the people living in the metros.
Yahoo! started the private beta version for its soon-to-be-launched web-mobile social networking platform SpotM in 2008. The platform is expected to launch sometime this year.
The year 2008 also saw the launch of Yahoo! India maps, Yahoo! OneSearch on Reliance Mobile, advertising exchange platform called the Right Media Exchange, Glue Pages beta which collates and integrates information in a single "visual" search results page, Yahoo! search marketing platform panama, local.yahoo.in and cricket.yahoo.com.
