Jack in the Box Worldwide brings in Samit Malkani as creative head


Jack in the Box Worldwide (JITB), the content-for-brands arm of Bang Bang Films,has brought in Samit Malkani as the creative head. In his new role, which starts from mid-October, Malkani will be reporting to Prashanth Challapalli, business head, JITB.
Prior to joining Jack In The Box, Malkani was working as creative partner at Yahoo!. He headed the in-house creative team for all of India except Delhi and his team  worked on creating digital solutions for advertisers on Yahoo!, using the media, content and technology resources they own. His notable work at Yahoo! includes the Yahoo! Real Beauty blogger campaign and the Live streaming of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.
He began his career at Lowe as a copywriter on brands like Tata Tea (Jaago Re), Johnson's Baby, Bajaj Auto and VIP bags, among others. After a six-year stint in mainline, he moved to lead the creative team at Linteractive, Lowe's digital arm. 
On Malkani's appointment Roopak Saluja, co-founder and managing director, Bang Bang Films and Jack in the Box Worldwide, said, "Samit brings to JITB a perfect amalgam of classical communications experience  and acutely integrated thinking with a large shot of passion for digital.  We've got a talented bunch of creative thinkers on board already but the leadership and direction Samit will add to it all is what we're super kicked about."
Prashanth Challapalli, business head, Jack in the Box Worldwide, added, "As a company that creates 'Content for Brands', we wanted someone who understood advertising but more importantly someone who could create highly engaging content as a differentiator to build brands across online and offline platforms. A good creative director is also instinctively a great brand strategist and Samit is a pretty neat fit because of his cross platform experience and proven creative abilities".
On his appointment Samit Malkani, creative head, Jack in the Box Worldwide, said, "I'm really excited to be joining JITB. There are very few outfits in India with this sort of vision for integrated marketing communication;as well as the ability to execute that vision. My mandate is to guide and shape the creative process that will result in some great work.I'm really looking forward to working with Roopak, Prashanth and the highly talented and passionate team at JITB."
