India@Cannes 2012: Taproot crafts Gold with 'I am Mumbai', Bacardi bags Bronze for 'The Dewarists'

Taproot India's entry 'I am Mumbai' for client TOI won a Gold Film Craft Lion, in the 'Direction' sub-category. The film was created by Ramesh Deo Productions.

Film Craft

The India story at Cannes 2012 ended with a Film Craft Gold Lion for Taproot India for its entry 'I am Mumbai' created for client The Times of India in the 'Direction' sub-category. The production house for this film, Ramesh Deo Productions Mumbai, needs to take a bow too. Watch the film here:

The Grand Prix in the category went to BETC Paris for the entry 'Bear' created for Canal+ in the 'Best Production Value' sub-category.

  

Branded Content and Entertainment Lions

Bacardi India's 'The Dewarists' won a Bronze Lion in the Branded Content and Entertainment Lions category under 'Best non-fiction program, series or film where a client has successfully created a reality, documentary or light entertainment show around a product(s) or brand(s)' sub-category. Babble Fish Productions, Only Much Louder Entertainment and Design of Information are the agencies behind this campaign. The Grand Prix Lion in the category went to Creative Artists Agency for 'Cultivate Campaign' created for Chipotle in the 'Best integrated content campaign' sub-category. Watch the film here:


Film Lions

No Indian entry won metal in the Film Lions category. 

The Grand Prix Lion in the category went to Creative Artists Agency again for 'Back to the Start' created for Chipotle. 

Titanium and Integrated Lions 

Indian agencies drew a blank in the Titanium and Integrated Lions category too. The Grand Prix Lion went to 'Nike + Fuel Band' entered by R/GA New York for Nike. Watch the winning entry here:

Special Awards

WPP won the Holding Company of the Year award again this year, while Omnicom and Publicis followed in second and third positions respectively. Ogilvy & Mather was the Network of the Year. BBDO and DDB came second and third respectively. 

Wieden+Kennedy, Portland won the Independent Agency of the Year award, while Serviceplan, Munich and Jung von Matt, Hamburg were the runners up. Wieden+Kennedy, Portland also won the Advertising Agency of the Year award. BBH, London came second, while Ogilvy São Paulo, Brazil won the third spot. Duval Guillaume Modem, Antwerp won the Media Agency of the Year award, with Jung von Matt, Hamburg and Manning Gottlieb OMD, London coming up second and third respectively. Serviceplan, Munich was adjudged the Direct Agency of the Year. Wieden+Kennedy, Portland and DDB Brasil, São Paulo were the runners up.
