Former Ogilvy hands Shoor and Talreja launch ‘borderless’ outfit ‘The Womb’

Former Ogilvy hands Shoor and Talreja launch ‘borderless’ outfit ‘The Womb’
Former Ogilvy & Mather national planning director Kawal Shoor, and former president of the agency’s Mumbai and Kolkata operations, Navin Talreja, have announced the launch of their new venture, ‘The Womb’.

The Womb is billed as a ‘borderless’ entity on three counts: (i) output (from ad campaigns to entertainment content to products and services); (ii) scope; and (iii) people and collaboration.

A statement detailing the new venture, explained: “Of course, advertising, and big ideas are our strength, and will remain our first calling card. But that is not where we will stop. And to do more, you need an organisation to be missioned, staffed and structured accordingly, and you also need the time and freedom to pursue it. As guys who built and led the ‘effectiveness’ culture in our past company for years, we know how to spot, nurture and put a powerful insight at the centre of it all. Already, even before our formal launch, we have clients who have entrusted us with interesting and diverse work.”

A startup team of 20 has kicked off with projects for Vini Cosmetics (Fogg, GlamUp), Indian Trading League.com, Diageo-USL (portfolio-wide strategy initiative), Saregama, Red Chief leather shoes, and launch of a premium detergent brand from RSPL (makers of Ghadi detergent).

In the entertainment and branded content space, The Womb has been commissioned to conceptualise and execute a travel show on Asia to be run on European screens, the statement added. The outfit also has product and service ideas pending patents, it said.
