ENIL's (Radio Mirchi) managing director AP Parigi (pictured) will join media major Eros International as Group CEO for its India operations.

Eros runs businesses in Hindi film production, home video, music and film distribution. Its recent releases include Love Aaj Kal and Kambakht Ishq, among others.

Parigi is currently serving his notice period at ENIL and he will join the Board of Eros International Media in October.

Speaking to Campaign India on his appointment, Parigi said, "I firmly believe that in the future, successful entertainment companies will be those who will be able to smartly monetize the convergence of telecom, media and content. Looking at the kind of films Eros has produced, and those in the pipeline, there are immense opportunities waiting to be monetized catering to the changing needs and consumption patterns of audiences."

Kishore Lulla, chairman and CEO, Eros International said, "We at the Eros Group are keen to further strengthen our leadership. To compete successfully in the future, Eros wishes to draw upon Parigi's managerial expertise to meet the challenges of the ever changing audience needs and new technologies."

Parigi joined The Times of India Group in 2000 and led its foray into radio, out-of-home media and event management. Currently a member of the board of directors at Bennett Coleman and Co. and The Times of India Group, he is credited for having managed its acquisition of the UK Radio Business.

Parigi has more than 35 years of experience spanning across several sectors including telecommunications and media. He has held a number of key positions including CEO of BPL Mobile Communications. He is also the chairman of the FICCI Radio Forum.
