Effie 2013 competition receives record 419 entries

The Ad Club, which has run the Effie Awards for effectiveness in marketing and advertising in India since 2001, has received a record 419 entries for the 2013 edition of the competition.

Ajay Kakar, chairperson, Effie 2013 committee, said, “A growth of about 20 per cent in the number of entries and participation of over 50 agencies shows the growing importance of ‘effectiveness’ of a marketing campaign and its direct impact on a business. In recent years, this has also been one of the key requirements of businesses from marketers and agencies. I am sure that this year we will witness a wide range of ideas that created a lasting impact on brands across diverse categories.”

Mumbai and Delhi will host two rounds of judging each for this year’s competition.

Colors is presenting sponsor while Zee Media Corporation Limited is associate sponsor. Lenovo is on board as technology sponsor.

The awards ceremony will be hosted in Mumbai on 15 January 2014.
