Bhaskar Group appoints Raja Mitra as senior GM and business head

Bhaskar Group has appointed Raja Mitra as senior general manager and business head for South India. He was previously with the ABP Group for five years, as head of southern India. In his new role, Mitra will be responsible for enhancing the company’s advertising sales revenue and growth in the southern India. Mitra will also be in-charge of building and maintaining an authoritative position for the brand in the region.

Bhaskar Group has appointed Raja Mitra as senior general manager and business head for South India. He was previously with the ABP Group for five years, as head of southern India. In his new role, Mitra will be responsible for enhancing the company’s advertising sales revenue and growth in the southern India. Mitra will also be in-charge of building and maintaining an authoritative position for the brand in the region.

Speaking about Mitra’s appointment, Rajiv Jaitly, president, ad sales and marketing, Bhaskar Group said, “With the markets shifting towards tier-II and tier-III cities, South India presents great opportunities for the brand and we are confident that with Raja’s knowledge and expertise in the southern region, we will further strengthen our position.”

Commented Mitra, “Bhaskar Group is a dynamic organization with tremendous growth potential, aggressive and ambitious growth plans in place. I believe there is enormous scope for the group to grow its business in Southern India and I look forward to working with the team.”

Mitra began his career with Larsen and Toubro, and has since then, been involved with companies such as Caltiger.com, Usha Martin Industries and ITW Signode India.
