AOY Awards ‘12: Taproot is Creative Agency of the Year, Carat bags media agency honours

Winners of the Campaign South Asia Agency of the Year Awards 2012 were announced in Singapore on 10 December. Bagging top honours were agencies and industry professionals from the India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh markets.

Among Gold winners in India-specific categories were Taproot India (Creative Agency of the Year), Carat India (Media Agency of the Year) and Interface Business Solutions (Digital Agency of the Year).

Taproot India was also awarded Gold as the South Asia Creative Agency of the Year, an honour that also went to Leo Burnett Solutions Sri Lanka. Carat India was adjudged the Gold winner under South Asia Media Agency of the Year category. In the South Asia Digital Agency of the Year category, Interface Business Solutions India and Symmetry Group Pakistan were adjudged Gold winners.

In other South Asia categories, Gold winners were CreativeLand Asia (Independent Agency of the Year), Edelman India (PR Agency of the Year) and DDB Mudra Max India (Specialist Agency of the Year).

In the individual and team categories for South Asia, McCann Worldgroup’s Prasoon Joshi was awarded the Agency Head of the Year title, while BBDO India’s Josy Paul was adjudged Creative of the Year. Lowe Lintas and Partners bagged the award for New Business Development Team of the Year, while McCann India’s Jitender Dabas won the title of Account Person of the Year.

Symmetry Group won the award for Pakistan Digital Agency of the Year 2012, while Leo Burnett Sri Lanka was adjudged Rest of South Asia Creative Agency of the Year.
