Shopclues promises the 'Laat Saab' life even without the riches

Watch the ad film conceptualised by Enormous here

Shopclues has rolled out a film that has been conceptualised by Enormous Brands.

The film opens with a couple welcoming home their aunt from Canada. The lady greets the aunt with a kiss on either cheek, but is unaware that one needs to make the kissing (muah) sound while doing so. The hostess even looks to welcome the aunt's chihuahua the same way, but her husband stops her. The soundtrack which doubles up as the voice over, says that the couple needn't know such things. Because their house (which they proudly show off to the visitor) is furnished with items from Shopclues, which lends them the status. It ends with a man popping up, who says if you want to live like 'Laat Saab' you don't need to be his son, but just have the Shopclues app.

Ashish Khazanchi, managing partner, Enormous Brands said, "Shopclues is a value platform. Value can be shown as either discounts or prices which are affordable. The other side of the coin is that if things are affordable, you can go up on the hierarchy scale. Money going further was the way we flipped it and said that with much less one can become a 'dude'. It was a slightly quirky take on that with the 'Laat Saab' idea. We are saying that all the lovely things in life can be accessed at prices that are accessible."

The film went live on the brand's YouTube page on 22 July, and started airing on TV from 2 August. The campaign will also have digital and outdoor legs.
