The India International Sports Summit, an initiative by Transstadia that was held in the city over the last two days saw an array of influential stakeholders in sports and entertainment ponder over the past, discuss the present and predict the future of the sports business.
The India International Sports Summit, an initiative by Transstadia, will be held on March 24 and 25, at Mumbai's Trident hotel in Nariman Point. The summit aims to be a sports convention which will champion development of India’s sporting industry. The speakers at the summit include Indian and global sports personalities such as Kapil Dev, Abhinav Bindra, Matthew Hayden, Geet Sethi, Bhaichung Bhutia, Bob Houghton, Viren Rasquinha, Suresh Kalmadi, Paul Fletcher, Dr. David Schmidt and Ishan Saksena, among others.
Transstadia, a sports and entertainment company, which had, earlier in the year, indicated that they would be investing in developing sports infrastructure in the country, has announced that they will be hosting the India International Sports Summit in March 2010, a first of its kind platform for professionals in the sports ecosystem to meet, debate and discuss key issues related towards building the sports industry in India. To be held from March 24 to 25, the theme of the event is ‘India, get, set, go.’
Sumeet Chatterjee, president of Pickle Advertising, has put in his papers and joined TransStadia as its head of business development.In his new role, Chatterjee will also be responsible for strategic alliances with partners (sponsors, sporting federations, education institutes, etc.), marketing and publicity, content and government liaison. He will report to Udit Sheth, owner of the company and its CEO and MD.
