Oscar winner Ang Lee’s film released in Indian today; WATCH the trailer here

Weekend Fun: Ang Lee’s Life of Pi

For those who don’t have plans this weekend and are movie buffs, there’s a high chance that one would want to catch Oscar winning director Ang Lee’s latest film, Life of Pi. The film released in India today, two days after its worldwide release.

The film is based on the 2001 fantasy adventure novel by Yann Martel. The film features the spectacular Namesake combo Tabu and Irrfan Khan. Suraj Sharma plays the role of Pi in the film. Life of Pi opened the 43rd International Film Festival of India, which is currently taking place in Goa.

In the novel, an Indian boy from Pondicherry called Pi looks to explore issues of spirituality and practicality from an early age.  He survives 227 days in a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal Tiger for company, thanks to a shipwreck.

After Jab Tak Hain Jaan, Son of Sardaar, Thuppaki and the like, here’s one of a slightly different flavour for the discerning Indian viewer. Book your show.
