Weekend fun 2: Subramani Ramachandran to launch his book ‘Kuch Mein Bhi Kahoon’ on Sunday

Subramani Ramachandran (Subbu), executive creative director, JWT, is set to launch his first book in a series on Urdu poetry. Titled, ‘Kuch Mein Bhi Kahoon’, the book will be launched on Sunday at Title Waves in Mumbai at 4 pm. The poetry promises to ‘capture the foibles, romance and philosophy that encircle the human sentiment’.

Subbu’s mother tongue is Tamil. With no poetic lineage or connect with Urdu, Subbu says he draws his inspiration from ‘from the sheer beauty of the Urdu language’.

The foreword has been written by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, while Manoj Bajpai is supposed to launch the book this weekend.

‘Kuch Main Bhi Kahoon’ is a collection of ghazals, nazms and rubayees.

Some couplets from Main Bhi Kuch Kahoon

Chahat barasti hui dikhai deti hai
Jo bhi deti hai khudai deti hai

Jab bhi tez daudne lagte hain ghode
Mujhko zameen ki cheekh sunai deti hai

Dehleez ke bahar kadam rakh magar sochkar
Duniya waisi nahin jaisi dikhai deti hai

Sabki har ek baat mein ek baat chupi hai
Jis tarah ujalon mein kahin raat chupi hai

Tuje et samajh kar jise seene se lagaye
Uss jeet mein kisiki kahin maat chupi ha
