Times Television Network has enhanced the responsibilities of two of its senior personnel: Avinash Kaul will now be chief executive officer of ET Now and Zoom, and Ajay Trigunayat will be chief executive officer of English Entertainment. They will continue to report to Sunil Lulla, managing director and chief executive officer, Times Television Network.

Announcing the new organisational focus, Lulla said, “2011 has been a significant year of growth for Times Television Network (TTN). As the channels consolidate positions, it offers opportunities for talent to develop. Avinash Kaul and Ajay Trigunayat will both bring new ideas, energy and  passion for TTN’s ambitious growth agenda."

Speaking on his appointment, Kaul said, “‘Bollywood’ and ‘Stocks’ are deep passions of India. I am delighted to have a blend of entertainment and information as part of my mandate. I look forward to ensuring that ET Now continues to consolidate its leadership as India’s premier stock market channel.”

Commenting on his appointment, Trigunayat said, “Movies Now has just about completed one year of stellar performance and I am looking forward to consolidating and growing the franchise of Hollywood entertainment for Times Television Network." Asked about whether the new designation implies the launch of a new channel soon, he said, "That's right. We have many things on our drawing board, and we will be incubating them in the next financial year."

Kaul was earlier CEO of Zoom and has previously worked with Fulcrum (Group M), Discovery Communications, Star, NDTV Media and Sahara One in strategic and management roles. Trigunayat was earlier channel head of MOVIES NOW. Prior to joining Times Television Network, he was in the Middle East in an entrepreneurial capacity, and has also been the business head of the Zee English Channels bouquet, and put in stints at Lintas, Contract and Rediffusion and at Pepsi in a sales role.
