Things They Like: Tripti Lochan
Tripti Lochan loves running and her favourite running gadget is Garmin. She started with the Garmin Forerunner 201 and now owns a Garmin Forerunner 910XT. She says, “I could fill pages about the coolness of that gadget.” Besides Garmin, she is an Apple person. Her must have gadgets is the Mac suite - MacPro, iPhone, iPad and the Time Machine. “The key to any gadget is in their utilisation,” explains Lochan, and that’s the reason for her being a great fan of all the Mac products. At work, she has a 3D printer and a transparent LED screen.

Coming to fashion, Lochan believes in a simple principle:“You need to be comfortable in anything you wear.” She would classify her wardrobe as classic chic. She likes to wear both western and Indian clothes,  and tends to mix cuts and colours, which go with her personality. She is not a particular brand addict but loves brands such as Talbots, EZRA, Mango, Zara, Kilol, Fab India and Cottons. She prefers her denims from Levi’s because it’s been around since 1873. “If you think about it, it’s amazing – what else has been around for so long? You even have ads from far back where there are gold miners wearing Levi’s!” she explains. When it comes to accessories, Lochan is fond of ethnic Indian jewellery, especially earrings and rings. Even with western outfits, she likes to match it with Indian jewellery. Old silver jewellery and rubies are her favourites. She likes perfumes from Chanel and started using Chanel No5 because of a Marilyn Monroe ad, which came from an interview when she said that she wore only ‘some drops of Chanel No 5’ in bed. Watches are from Emporio Armani because of its looks: “Not jewellery and not just functional – something in between,” she adds. Lochan likes her shoes from Charles & Keith because of the design, range and comfort.

She drives a BMW 720 and instantly fell in love with the car when her friend showed her the engine, “a piece of beauty.” She wishes to own a BMW Z4 some day, ‘when life goes back to being a couple again – when the kids have gone’. She also wishes to own a Harley when she retires and do road trips dressed completely in black leather.
