Things They Like: Hari Nair

HolidayIQ’s Hari Nair on his dream to travel the world, his must-carry Moto 360, and cooking at home

Things They Like: Hari Nair
For Hari Nair, running HolidayIQ means being connected to travel all the time, in every way. Though he dreams to see the world, Pokhara in Nepal ‘exceedingly charmed’ him. He visited Normandy in France this August, and wishes to revisit the country, ‘and ideally soak it all in’ the French way! His favourite cities? New York, Paris, Hong Kong and Trivandrum.

His iPad keeps him company everywhere – work or holiday. Admitting that he is not much of a gadget freak, the other must-carry for him is his Moto 360, which “keeps me going, on the go”.

Nair’s all-time favourite brand is Muji of Japan. He also likes Paul & Shark, Tommy Hilfiger and Zara Man. For socks and accessories, he prefers Paul Smith. “(I am) Very excited to have recently discovered Jules of Paris. For Indian tones, I like what FabIndia and Anokhi offer,” he says. At work, he prefers a casual wardrobe. Nair likes The Body Shop aftershave creams, Emporio Armani watches and sunglasses. Shoes from Aldo and Tods work for him.

He prefers ‘cooking at home’, though his favourite cuisine is Chinese. “Tim Ho Wan in Hong Kong is my favourite for Chinese and Yauatcha in India,” reveals the well-traveled man, who also digs Malabar food at Paragon in Calicut.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is his favourite movie, and Travels with Charley by author John Steinbeck his favourite book.

No wanderer’s wish list is complete without a set of wheels. Nair’s dream car is a 1969 Corvette Convertible.
