Tarun Jha exits Havas Creative India after 12 months as CEO

Tarun Jha, chief executive officer of Havas Worldwide India, has announced his departure from the company to explore new opportunities—having taken the helm only a year ago when he joined from Skoda where he spent over 15 years.

Appointed in March 2023, Jha reported to Rana Barua, who now serves as the group CEO of Havas India, Southeast Asia, and North Asia, including Japan and South Korea. During his time with the company, he focused on enhancing the Group's creative direction, processes, and assembling a formidable leadership team—contributing to Havas Worldwide India's growth and client acquisition portfolio.

Under Jha's stewardship, Havas Worldwide India saw notable advancements, including the strengthening of its service offerings and an expanded client base. Anupama Ramaswamy, chief creative officer, Anirban Mozumdar, chief strategy officer, and Kundan Joshee, managing partner will now jointly oversee the operations of Havas Worldwide India, reporting directly to Barua.

Speaking of Jha's contributions, Barua emphasised his role in laying a solid foundation for the agency and fostering a capable second-tier leadership team.

"Tarun was an intrinsic part of the team, playing a key role in establishing a robust foundation for Havas Worldwide India. He actively contributed to important discussions and helped in putting together a strong and capable second line of leaders. I wish him all the best for the next chapter," shared Barua.

Reflecting on his stint, Jha described it as a transformative and enlightening experience, praising the 'One Havas' philosophy for its emphasis on collaboration across the agency's many divisions.

“My time at Havas India has been a short yet a transformative experience for me, almost a refresher course that has equipped me to become a more adept and all-round marketer. Witnessing the ‘One Havas’ philosophy and the effective collaboration between the 20 agencies and specialised divisions has almost been a revelation. I look forward to applying all my acquired skills and knowledge to the art of building enduring brands and businesses, something that I have always loved doing," said Jha.
