SpinItUp, positioned as India’s first interactive music commerce platform enabling club-goers to pay for song requests during live DJ sets, has raised INR 50 Lakh in pre-seed funding. The investment comes from Zee TV Ideabaaz Titans Jimmy Mistry of Della Adventure Resorts, Anupam Bansal of Liberty Shoes and Archana Jehagirdar of Rukam Capital, valuing the company at INR 10 Crore.
The funding marks a validation of SpinItUp’s model, which connects entertainment, technology and the creator economy. The platform plans to channel the capital towards strengthening its technology stack to reinforce its positioning as a seamless, rapid earnings platform for DJs. Its priorities include enhancing the core product, expanding its venue network, strengthening partnerships and accelerating creator onboarding. SpinItUp intends to build a larger team across technology, product and growth functions to support scale and introduce new features such as advanced analytics for DJs and venue partners, commission tracking dashboards and a broader marketplace.
The company also plans to invest in marketing activities to drive creator acquisition across major nightlife hubs, supporting a nationwide footprint. The stated objective is to onboard 5,000 DJs within the next 12 months and build a pipeline of venue partners across clubs and bars in multiple cities.
Co-founder DJ Sanjay Meriya, also known as The Spindoctor, said, “I come from a humble background, and my journey as a DJ has been full of struggle, hustle, and sleepless nights. I built everything from scratch, so I know how tough it is for DJs to earn and grow. SpinItUp was born from that struggle — to give every DJ the opportunity I never had. This investment is not just funding; it’s proof that our industry deserves better, and we’re here to make that change.”
Co-founder Sudeep Bansal added, “Moving from the US with just an idea, I was nervous but confident about our concept from the get go and getting validation on national television has just boosted our confidence to the next level. The party is just getting started.”
The founders emphasise that DJs in India traditionally lack consistent monetisation avenues beyond gig payments. SpinItUp aims to address this gap with a structured system that allows DJs to earn additional income via real-time song requests. The platform also plans to introduce tools that support standardisation and transparent income tracking, contributing to the wider creator economy.
For partner venues, the platform offers a zero-investment model to boost customer experience. Early adopters report increases in social media engagement and improved customer satisfaction, with patrons treating the interactive request feature as a premium service. SpinItUp is developing analytics tools for venue partners to track engagement patterns, revenue impact and customer response to interactive music experiences.
Through its mobile platform, DJs can accept or decline requests in real time, earning commissions on top of existing fees. Venues benefit from longer dwell time, higher engagement and potential revenue uplift, without additional operational effort.
To date, SpinItUp has onboarded 450 DJs and performing artists across three cities and has secured 10 partner venues. The platform reports monthly payouts of INR 5,000–7,000 per artist and 120% YoY revenue growth. With the new funding, SpinItUp plans to accelerate its expansion, enhance product capabilities and establish partnerships across India.
