Saatchi & Saatchi's 2010 showcase of new directors and their work can now be viewed online. In its 20th year, the theme of the annual presentation at Cannes was “Nothing is Impossible”, and true to the word, the programme was hosted by holograms of Richard Myers, creative director of global culture, and Paul Arden, a former executive creative director at the London agency who introduced the showcase in 1991 and passed away two years ago.

Speaking of the event on the Saatchi website, Tom Eslinger, worldwide digital creative director of the agency, said, “Being creative with tech and tools like holography and stereoscopic screens moves sight, sound and motion beyond the 2D and opens the door for ideas to not only live beyond TV and print, but beyond mobiles and PCs.”

In the video, Arden’s hologram proclaims, “In the two years since I passed away, filmmaking and the way films are watched and shared have changed dramatically. But one thing hasn’t changed at all. Only those directors who approach their art with the belief ‘Nothing is impossible’ are likely to be successful.”

The showcase can be viewed at www.youtube.com/user/NDS and www.canneslions.com/saatchinewdirectors.
