Leo Burnett has one Gold among 12 metals; Three Golds among McCann’s six

Mirchi Kaan Awards 2013: O&M is Agency of the Year; Perfetti Client of the Year
Ogilvy & Mather bagged the ‘Agency of the Year’ title at the 10th Mirchi Kaan Awards for radio advertising announced in Mumbai on 5 July 2013. The agency bagged three Gold, three Silver and four Bronze metals.
 
Ogilvy’s Anurag Agnihotri was awarded the ‘Radio Writer of the Year’ prize this year. The agency also won a ‘Crystal Award’ for a Japanese ad for client Perfetti Van Melle – which was adjudged ‘Client of the Year’.
 
Leo Burnett came a ‘close second’, informed organisers. The agency’s haul comprised one Gold, four Silver and seven Bronze metals.
 
Mccann Erickson won three Gold, two Silver and one Bronze awards while JWT bagged one Silver and four Bronzes. JWT also won the ‘Best Use of Radio as a Medium’ award for a campaign for client Airtel.
 
Scarecrow Communications was awarded three Silver and four Bronzes, Thought Blurb won four Bronzes, while Grey Worldwide and Orchard Advertising won a Bronze each.
Manohar Nayak of Lingo India was awarded for Excellence in Production, for the fifth year in a row.
 
The tenth edition of the awards attracted 250 entries from 30 agencies across 15 categories.
 
GG Jayanta, national marketing head, ENIL (Radio Mirchi), said, “We are seeing the participation of agency augment each passing year. This speaks volumes about the space that radio advertising has created in an overall campaign. We started with an aim to boost the creative minds in radio advertising and today we are seeing some of the most innovative ad campaigns on radio.”
