Ministry of Consumer Affairs seeks integrated social media agency

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, has called for a pitch to appoint a new social media agency for the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

The pitch is currently underway in New Delhi to finalise an integrated outfit that can handle a large set of social media responsibilities, including influencer marketing and public relations for the organisation.

The winning agency will be given the authority to manage BIS' social media accounts and will regularly engage in maintenance and upgrading on its behalf. It will also work on search engine optimisation (SEO), short creative videos, and social media campaigns.

The chosen agency will be expected to leverage media for extensive publicity. It will also be responsible for collating, designing, and developing audio, video content, and creatives for BIS, as well as for the office of the minister of Consumer Affairs, Piyush Goyal.

The statutory body recently released simple and user-friendly model building regulations—‘Standardized Development and Building Regulations 2023’. This was prepared after studying the provisions of the National Building Code (NBC) 2016 and existing national and global building regulations.

The Bureau of Indian Standards, the National Standards Body of India, was brought into existence in 1987, to facilitate the development and dissemination of Indian standards. The organisation aims to foster an environment of excellence in all economic activity and engage in the facilitation of standardisation.
