MiD DAY’s Shishir Joshi puts in his papers

Shishir Joshi, group editorial director, MiD DAY Group has put in his papers. Joshi (pictured) who joined the daily to drive synergy between the company’s print, radio, web and mobile properties, has been with the group for 16 months now. Abhijit Majumder, currently resident editor, Delhi MiD DAY, will take over as executive editor for all editions, based out of Mumbai.

Shishir Joshi, group editorial director, MiD DAY Group has put in his papers. Joshi (pictured) who joined the daily to drive synergy between the company’s print, radio, web and mobile properties, has been with the group for 16 months now. Abhijit Majumder, currently resident editor, Delhi MiD DAY, will take over as executive editor for all editions, based out of Mumbai. 

Confirming the development, Joshi said, "I have put in my papers. I have enjoyed my stint with the group but I think it is time to move on." Joshi declined to comment on his future plans.

Joshi, who joined the group in late August 2007, oversees all editorial content for in its four English editions in Bangalore, Delhi, Pune and Mumbai, apart from the Urdu and Gujarati papers. Joshi has nearly two decades of journalistic experience.

Prior to MID DAY, Joshi was with  the TV Today group, where he headed western India as executive editor and bureau chief, Mumbai. He has also editorial consultant for the Sahara group, helping set up TV channels across India as well as recruiting and training professionals for them. Prior to that he was with NDTV as its sole business news correspondent based out of Mumbai.

He has worked with CNN.com; written for Reuters and AFP and has contributed to UK based ITN-Channel 4 News and has been the South Asia Representative of Peter Arnetts Broadcast News Network (BNN TV).

Krishna Warrier (editor – editions and technology) has also decided to move an as well. Manajit Ghoshal, CEO, MiD DAY Infomedia said, “We value the contribution that Shishir Joshi and Krishna Warrier have made to MiD DAY during their tenure and we wish them all the success.”
