Managing partner Raj Kamble takes over StrawberryFrog India ops; agency renamed ‘Famous Innovations’

Raj Kamble, managing partner, StrawberryFrog India, has taken over operations of the unit, which launched in November 2012. The agency will operate independent of StrawberryFrog globally, and has been renamed ‘Famous Innovations’.

Following the change of name, Famous Innovations will not be associated with StrawberryFrog globally, informed Kamble.

Kamble will take on the title of founder and chief creative officer. From StrawberryFrog India, head of strategy Arun Raman and CFO Kamal Mandal will complete the leadership team at Famous Innovations.

On the move, Kamble said, “The last 16 months have been amazing at the agency. We have won nine out of the 11 businesses we pitched for, and I am very positive about the team we have built. Now, in India, we are moving out of the licensing model of using a global brand name. Our true strength is our passionate team and nothing should stop us from investing in our people and in our work.”

With testimonials to back its claim, a Famous statement added that the agency will continue to work with existing clients including Raymond, Titan Industries, SAB Miller, Lakme Lever, Vadilal Ice-creams, Spykar, MassMutual USA, Total Environment and Piramal Realty.

StrawberryFrog NY to continue work on Mahindra

Wishing Kamble the best for his new endeavours, Scott Goodson, founder and chairman, StrawberryFrog, directed queries on the development to Apco Worldwide (which bought majority stake in StrawberryFrog in February 2012).

He added, “While for specific period of time I helped set up and launch StrawberryFrog in India, I have not been involved in the business since last year. The Indian company has not been connected with StrawberryFrog New York and I have had no personal involvement.”

Meanwhile, StrawberryFrog New York is working on building the global Mahindra automotive brand as well as the global Mahindra tractor brands. The agency, he added, continues to remain engaged with Mahindra on these and other projects like Nanhi Kali.

He categorically stated that StrawberryFrog will look forward to working with Indian brands as they globalise, much like it has been working for brands such as Mahindra and LG of Korea.
