IPG Mediabrands names Apac regional planning director

IPG Mediabrands, the media unit of Interpublic Group, has brought in Swapna Nayak as the regional communications planning director for Asia Pacific.

IPG said in a statement announcing the appointment that it is focusing on integrated strategy, innovation, content and owned asset development for Mediabrands’ global clients across Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Mediabrands, Nayak was regional strategy director for Southeast Asia at Havas Media Group. She has worked with Starcom  Mediavest, Ogilvy & Mather, and Zee Films. In a career spanning 16 years, Nayak has also spent time at the client end.

Prashant Kumar, president, IPG Mediabrands, World Markets Asia, said, “Increasingly, the lines between media and creativity have been blurred and campaigns that bring the best of both worlds can truly set a brand’s message apart. Swapna’s varied experiences and leadership roles that she has played in her career to date, is a highly desirable attribute. With her on board, we are an even stronger team than ever before.”

On her appointment, Nayak said, “I am eager to join Mediabrands as my next professional destination. The opportunity to work in a 'challenger agency set up' alongside a talented mix of people and brands is an exciting prospect and I look forward to further strengthen its integrated communication planning competency by tapping into my diverse agency experiences and contribute to the company’s growth ambition.”
